Week 8 and learning conference time. We have been working hard with our preparation for these. The children are excited and a little nervous as the time approaches. I think they will be great. You will be able to hear all the great learning that has been happening since the last conferences.
There are changes in store for the Room 9 students next term. I will be moving to Room 8 to start a new, New Entrant class, as I did this time last year with your guys. Jenn Victor is leaving to head to China, so her position has been advertised and we will be employing a new teacher. The new teacher will teach the current Room 9 students in Room 6 and Amy Herbert, who is back from maternity leave next term, will take most of the current Room 8 students to Room 13.
So all go ahead for the rest of this term and then into next. Lots of our room are heading to turning 6 so it's exciting times.

Week 5 of the term. The time is racing by and we are moving quickly towards our learning conferences that the children are already excited about. We are continuing to work on writing recounts and our reading is going well. At maths we are into our number unit and building on the knowledge to help us with addition and subtraction. We have been collecting information about what helps us to learn and we will be able to share this with you at the learning conferences. The cross country races are on this wednesday. The children are certainly a lot fitter than when we started and can keep running for longer distances....go SHEPPARD!!!!
